Tyler Hobbs (better know by his stage name Buckhead Shaman) has made a timely return since the release of his last two albums, baring natural wines and the precious gift of music. In his latest single, “Get The Lotion” Tyler creates an infectious melody-driven ballad, layered with soft vocals and an upbeat groove that reminds you of a catchy Motown record. The new track serves as the first single from his forthcoming LP, The Janitor; an auto-biographical look into the years Hobbs himself spent working as a Janitor and the loneliness often accompanied with that.
In a recently summited statement mister Tyler had this to say about the new release, “Whirling and puffy, a miniature epic about your fantasy beach day gone awry. You’ve forgotten to apply your lotion, and now it may be too late. On it goes. What’s worse, you’re freaking out– paranoid. Is it from too much weed? The clouds roll in, you accept your fate, and you convince yourself you’ve found peace.”
The Janitor is slated for release late May. It will be accompanied by a short film about an unlikely and perhaps inappropriate relationship between a brilliant and troubled professor and a janitor with a demonic secret; quite an interesting premise to say the least, and something to look forward to after you’ve played this amazing but short single over and over.
